Biothon

Date: Schedule Your Own Date**
Time: Schedule Your Own Time**
Place: Schedule Your Own Location**
Cost: Free to attend

Do you love springtime? Do you want to explore new birds, flowers and other signs of spring outdoors? You are invited to participate in the Hitchcock Center for the Environment’s 2015
Biothon, where groups of nature lovers go outside for up to 24 hours at a time on a weekend in May, counting as many species as they see! Here’s how it works: you organize a group of girls and adults who are interested in participating. The Hitchcock Center will provide you with an experienced naturalist mentor to lead your group and count animals, plants, birds, insects or whatever species you choose to count! You can choose how long you would like to go out for and where you want to explore! In the past, groups have gone out trying to count 100 different kinds of birds or counted as many flower species as possible. Prizes are awarded for participation and for the teams with the highest count of species. *For girls ages 8 and up. Open to troops and girls with an adult. **This program runs for any 24-hour period between May 8-10 or May 15-17.
Call Hitchcock Center to schedule a date, time and location at 413-256-6006 or visit
www.hitchcockcenter.org/index.php/support-us/biothon. The event is free but donations to the Hitchcock Center are always welcome.
