Certification

Archery Level 1 Certification

National Archery Instructor Level I certification recognized by USA Archery and National Field Archery Association. Open to adults and girls age 16 and up. Once certified, adults may lead archery programs for troops, encampments and at council events. face-to-face.

Required:  Optional for troop leaders, co-leaders and assistant leaders.
Prerequisite: Girl Scouting 101, Welcome to Girl Scout Leadership
Cost: $45 – Girl Scouts
$95 – Non-Girl Scouts

Community First Aid and CPR Certification
Volunteers may take first aid training through an area Red Cross office, the National Safety Council, local emergency services, hospitals, fire or other rescue services. Paying for an adult in the troop to become a certified first aider is a valid troop expense. Face-to-face.

Required:  Girl Scouts recommends that when girls are present at least one adult volunteer be first-aid/CPR certified. A first aider is required for physically demanding activities, activities involving the potential for injury and trips.
Prerequisite: None
Cost: $45

GSCWM has an on-going relationship with Safety Trainers to provide first aid and CPR courses. To register for Safety Trainers courses, call 508-799-2857.

Team Challenge – Low Ropes Training

Learn to facilitate a group team building experience on a low ropes course. You’ll learn about group dynamics, trust building and problem solving. In the morning, you’ll practice get-to-know you games while learning important spotting and safety guidelines. In the afternoon, you’ll participate in elements of the low ropes challenge course and learn to facilitate experiences for girls using the course. Face-to-face.

Required:  Optional for troop leaders, co-leaders and assistant leaders.
Prerequisite: Girl Scouting 101 & Welcome to Girl Scout Leadership recommended
Cost: $15
