Fork It Over 2010: A Sweet (and savory) Success!

Fork It Over - Lemon SoupIn 2010, nearly 30 chefs from the greater Springfield and Worcester areas accepted the Fork It Over challenge: create desserts and appetizers using Girl Scout Cookies as inspiration. In June, over 200 members of the community gathered at Pazzo Ristorante for the tasty Springfield debut of the event, including Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno and Carlos Gonzalez, President of the MA Latino Chamber of Commerce, who also served as a guest judge.

Fork It Over - ScallopIn October, 200 guests joined the culinary extravaganza in Worcester at Coral Seafood. Thanks to the judging of Lon Breedlove, of the MA Restaurant Association, and his team, winners were announced in both Sweet and Savory categories and included a Tagalong Mini Shrimp Taco and a "Give Me Samoa" Cupcake. Brothers McCann kept the atmosphere upbeat with live music and attendees walked away with a recipe book highlighting all of the evening's creations.

Both events enticed attendees with samplings of everything from Squash Ravioli to Tagalong Cheesecake and Lemon Chalet Sea Scallops. In the end, Fork It Over truly is the most delicious way to support Girl Scouts in central and western Massachusetts! The events together raised nearly $35,000 for Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts thanks to community support and incredible sponsors.
