Nominees for GSUSA Recognitions (specified in parentheses) must be registered Girl Scout adults.

The following recognitions require the approval of the GSCWM Recognition Committee. To nominate a person or organization for any of the recognitions below, complete and submit the Adult Recognition Nomination Form.

For Organizations, Businesses, and Non-Girl Scout Individuals:

Community Certificate – For significant contribution and support to Girl Scouts on a continual or one-time basis.

For Volunteers, Other Than Leaders:

Outstanding Volunteer Award (GSUSA Recognition) – For outstanding performance whose service benefits a geographic area or service unit in a way that is beyond the expectations of the position. The nominee must have completed appropriate training and performed at a level that exceeds the expectations of the position.

For Troop/Group Leaders, Co-Leaders and Assistant Troop/Group Leaders:

Outstanding Leader Award (GSUSA Recognition) – For outstanding performance in working with girls that merits special recognition. The nominee must have completed appropriate training and demonstrated competence in girl/adult partnership, communication, membership development, pluralism and program delivery. Girls in partnership with parents mustsubmit at least two letters of recommendation.

The following recognitions require approval from both the GSCWM Recognition Committee and the Board of Directors. Please complete and submit the Adult Recognition Nomination Form with all required letters of recommendation. Nominations will not be considered without accompanying letters of recommendation.

For Volunteers and Staff:

Appreciation Pin (GSUSA Recognition) – For outstanding service delivered to at least one service unit or geographic area above and beyond the expectations for the position held. Two letters of recommendation relating to the nominee’s contributions to Girl Scouts must accompany nominations in this category.

Honor Pin (GSUSA Recognition) – For outstanding service delivered to two or more service units or geographic areas above and beyond the expectations for the position held. Three letters of recommendation relating to the nominee’s contributions to Girl Scouts must accompany nominations in this category.

Thanks Badge (GSUSA Recognition) – For truly outstanding performance, which benefits the total council or the entire Girl Scout organization and is so significantly beyond expectations that no other recognition would be appropriate. Four letters of recommendation relating to the nominee’s contributions to Girl Scouts must accompany nominations in this category.

Thanks Badge II – (GSUSA Recognition) – For persons who continue to give service of the same high quality for an extended period of time after receiving the Thanks Badge. Four letters of recommendation relating to the nominee’s contributions to Girl Scouts must accompany nominations in this category.
