Summer Camp


Girl Scout Cookie Sale

Trailblazer Program
for Girls Entering Grades 7-8

Program Cost: $220/week

As a Trailblazer, girls participate in fun camp activities, such as swimming, archery, and outdoor cooking. In addition, each day allows time for Trailblazer interest groups. Girls choose between two interest groups each week (see interest group schedule and descriptions below).

day camp tent photoReady to take your leadership skills to the next level? Girls in grades 7-8 are eligible to become Girl Scout Program Aides. As a PA, you'll be able to work with younger girls at camp, in troops, at some council events, or in a variety of program specific areas. Core Training will teach you how to work iwth children, as well as how to lead and plan group activities.

American Red Cross GuardStart: Lifeguarding Tomorrow
Available Session 1 at Marion White, Lewis Perkins and Green Eyrie
              Session 5 at Hickory Hill

day camp photoAren't old enough to be a lifeguard? GuardStart: Lifeguarding Tomorrow is an exciting program where you can build a foundation of knowledge, swimming and leadership skills for a future lifeguarding course.

LiA (Leader in Action)
“Part A” Available Session 2 at Marion White, Lewis Perkins, and Laurel Wood
“Part B” Available Session 3 at Marion White, Lewis Perkins, and Laurel Wood

Here’s your chance to show your leadership skills as you assist the youngest group at camp in their program! After completing both Parts A and B of LiA (two day camp sessions), you will earn the Girl Scout Cadette LiA Quest patch. You don’t need to complete Part A to participate in Part B.

PA Day Camp Specialization Training
Available Session 4 at Lewis Perkins; Session 5 at Hickory Hill; Session 6 at Green Eyrie

Already have PA Core Training? Looking to expand your leadership skills and interests? You’ll develop skills in several of the program areas of camp, including waterfront, arts & crafts, nature, and outdoor cooking. You’ll put those skills into practice by leading some activities at camp.

American Red Cross Babysitting
Available Session 5 at Lewis Perkins

The program covers topics such as caring for children and infants, making good decisions, and handling emergencies. Girls receive ARC Babysitting Training certification by participating in this interest group.

Express It!day camp photo

In this interest group, you’ll express your hopes, dreams and plans through art and writing. You’ll also participate in fun activities that will help you learn more about that most important person—you!

Arts
Available Session 2 at Marion White, Lewis Perkins, Laurel Wood

In this interest group, you’ll spend time extra time doing arts, including some in-depth art projects. You’ll also have the option to lead a craft activity for the youngest campers at camp.

Nature & Sports
Available Session 3 at Marion White, Lewis Perkins, Laurel Wood

Spend extra time with our Nature and Sports Specialist this week—doing archery, campcraft, and nature activities. You’ll also have the option to help plan the week’s all-camp event.

You’ll sail, kayak, and canoe in this interest group. You’ll also have the option to lead a boating activity for the youngest campers at camp.
