Girl Program
Junior, Cadette, Senior, Ambassador

It's 1968 and eleven-year-old Delphine and her two younger sisters have been sent to Oakland, California to visit their mother. They dream of going to Disneyland, but are instead sent to a summer camp run by the Black Panthers. They learn much about their family identity, personal responsibility and revolution. Registration includes a copy of the book One Crazy Summer and three meetings: March 4 and March 25 from 1:00-3:00pm at the Holyoke Service Center and April 15 from 10:00am-12:00pm at the Pan-African Historical Museum in Springfield, MA. Adults may be asked to chaperone the April 15 trip. If you can't make it to our Holyoke Service Center, you can join our March 4th and 25th meetings via Google Hangouts. We'll send your book in the mail.
