Energy is Electrifying! Gr 3-5
How do the lights turn on? In this hands-on program you'll discover where your household energy comes from. Using real (miniature) generators, motors, solar panels and wind turbines, we’ll explore how electricity is made and the impact it has on our environment. We’ll discuss cleaner alternatives to producing energy and try them out ourselves. You will turn on light bulbs using energy from the wind and sun! We’ll use tools to find out how much energy our standard household appliances use and brainstorm ways to save energy. Katie Koerten loves learning about energy and sharing these activities with you. It is sure to be a lot of fun! Dress for the weather as we will spend some time outside. Bring snacks or lunch.
Open to troops and girls with an adult.
