GSCWM GIRL ADVISORY GROUP
YOUR IDEAS ARE WANTED!. . . . . . YOUR VOICE IS WANTED!. . . . . . . YOUR OPINION IS WANTED!
Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts is proud to announce the formation of a Girl Advisory Group and we’re looking for participants!
OUR GOAL:
To create a vibrant girl advisory group in order to provide ideas, guidance, and girl-driven recommendations to the GSCWM Board of Directors, the GSCWM Chief Executive Officer, and the GSCWM staff.
WHO WILL MAKE UP THE GROUP?
We are looking for approximately 40 girls from all age groups to participate. The makeup of the group would be:
- 10 Daisy/Brownies
- 10 Juniors
- 10 Cadettes
- 10 Senior/Ambassadors
WHAT WILL THIS GROUP DO?
This group will discuss everything about Girl Scouting; what should we do in Girl Scouting? how do we attract more members? They will make recommendations to Pattie Hallberg, the Chief Executive Officer for GSCWM. From time-to-time they will be asked their opinion from staff members working on specific projects. And, they will recommend ideas to the GSCWM Board of Directors.
The group will definitely help determine their own work. Some ideas on what this group will do:
- Provide input into the planning of the 100th anniversary celebration
- Provide input on camps and programs
- Discuss marketing of Girl Scouting. Why are you involved? Why do girls drop out?
- More broadcasting of Girl Scouting – get girls to go into their community and talk about why they do Girl Scouting.
HOW OFTEN WILL THIS GROUP MEET?
Our first meeting will be in September, and we’ll meet again in person in March. The meeting will be several hours long and will include lunch. We will hold it in a geographically central location.
We will host web meetings and/or phone meetings in November, January, and May with girls joining together at the three Girl Scout offices.
Advisory Group members will also be asked to be a part of the GSCWM Annual Meeting.
