Camper Health and Safety

day camp photoHealth Care

Your camper’s well-being is our primary concern. Each camp meets state health codes and strict Girl Scout and American Camp Association standards. A Health Supervisor is in charge of the health center at each camp and is supported by the on-call services of a physician or nurse practitioner. In case of serious accident or illness, parents/guardians will be called immediately. Each camp must comply with the regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and is licensed by the local board of health. Information on these regulations can be obtained at 617-983-6791.

Camp Health Forms

A physician exam is NOT necessary for day camp. However, a health history, completed by the parent/guardian, and immunization record are required. Your camper CANNOT attend camp, according to state regulations, until this paperwork has been received. The health history is on the back of the Day Camp Registration form. If you didn’t fill it out when registering, a copy will be included in your confirmation packet and must be returned no later than June 15.

Camper Release Password

A camper release password is required to release girls each day at the bus stop or from camp. Please indicate your password on the registration form. Your camper’s confirmation packet will include the password you have submitted. Please give this word only to the person coming to pick up your camper. This password is required whether you transport your camper or she rides the bus.
