Training

GSCWM provides quality learning opportunities conducted by skilled and enthusiastic volunteer facilitators and staff. Learning opportunities currently include face-to-face workshops, events and online tutorials and webinars. The learning opportunities you take advantage of as an adult volunteer will assist you in providing the best Girl Scout leadership experiences for girls! Adults must be registered members of Girl Scouts to attend council adult training workshops/events. Adult membership is $15 annually and must be purchased prior to registering for adult training workshops/events. Click here to purchase an adult membership.

Training Type Purpose

Volunteer Basics

For all new volunteers; learn the basics of Girl Scouts and the Girl Scout Leadership Experience
Girl Scouting 101, Welcome to Girl Scout Leadership, Leader/Service Unit Team Update and Reappointment, Grade Level Series (Daisy Days, Brownie Share, Jump into Juniors, Teens and Tweens)

Beyond Meetings

For troop leaders leading girls on short outings, day trips, indoor overnights, camping trips and big trips
Indoor Overnights, Outdoor Courses (Outdoor Cooking Skills, Outdoor Overnights, All in One), Big Trips

Enrichment

Includes short face-to-face and online workshops. It is designed to serve as an enrichment opportunity for Girl Scout volunteers. Some are for to enhance the troop experience, some provide tips for easier registration and troop management, some provide opportunities for your personal leadership growth.
Journey Through Girl Scouting, Tips for Successful Online Membership Experiences, Ceremonies, Three Processes, One Powerful Program

Certification

For volunteers and staff leading girls in special activities such as archery or boating; includes First Aid
Archery Level One, First Aid and CPR, Team Challenge-Low Ropes

Special Learning Event -
Autumn Escape

For volunteers who want to take multiple trainings in a day or weekend with other volunteers

Product Program-Cookies and Nuts

For troop and service unit volunteers who manage product programs

Service Unit Volunteers

For service unit volunteers joining the team in a particular position.
