Extended Year Membership
Starting April 1, Girl Scouts offers the Extended Year Membership for NEW girl and adult members, which will allow them to purchase Girl Scout membership at a prorated cost. This new membership option allows new girls and adults to join Girl Scouts in the spring and summer and benefit from paying a reduced rate for the partial year in which they are joining.
What does Extended Year Membership include? The price for Extended Year Membership is $83 and includes Girl Scout membership for the remainder of the current Girl Scout year, as well as the entire upcoming membership year which is April 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026.
Girl Scouts registered Extended Year have the opportunity to participate in Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge and earn the Outdoors Challenge patch, and join any and all Girl Scouts Love State Parks events September 13-14 (more info on that coming soon).
In addition, and exclusive to extended year members, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in the following over the summer:
- Earn the Girl Scout Art and Design badge with their family.
- Earn the Girl Scout Trail Adventure badge at Badge-in-a-Day (details below).
Please note there is partial and full financial assistance for girl memberships. Click "Join Now!" above to get started then “Find a Troop”, then select ‘Extended Year’ when prompted.
There are four dates and four locations for Badge-in-a-day at our Girl Scout camps in August. There is no cost to families for these programs and the badges and patches earned over the summer are included at no cost to families. Badge-in-a-day runs from 10 AM to 1 PM at each of the following locations:
August 18, Camp Green Eyrie, Harvard
August 19 Camp Bonnie Brae, East Otis
August 20, Camp Laurel Wood, Spencer
August 22, Camp Lewis Perkins, South Hadley
AND, if they register extended year during the month of April they will also receive the Say Yes to the Vest patch!
Adult Extended Year Membership is $42 and is valid April 1, 2025 - September 30, 2026.
New troop leadership team members who register extended year are able to start participating before October 1, and are able to train and have access to support systems over the summer. History tells us this is the best and least stressful way to get new volunteers and new troops ready for a successful Girl Scout program year. If their troop is a new troop where everyone registered Extended Year the volunteers have the opportunity to do meet and greets over the summer if they choose as everyone is a registered member.
