Community Based Programs
Our Community Based Programs continue to grow and now serve more than 800 girls across central and western massachusetts. This expansion has allowed us to reach girls in under-resourced communities by meeting them where they are and providing access to opportunities that support their ability to reach their full potential.
By expanding our reach, we have been able to respond to critical community needs, including providing safe, high-quality programming during periods when access to enrichment opportunities is limited. This past summer, our programs helped fill gaps created by long waitlists in summer school and other youth programs, ensuring that girls continued to learn, explore, and grow year-round.
Through engaging experiences in STEM, life skills, outdoor adventure, online safety, mental health awareness, and confidence building, girls are gaining tools that help them succeed both in and out of school. For many participants, this is their first experience with Girl Scouts—opening the door to new interests, meaningful relationships, and a strong sense of belonging.
We are deeply grateful to our funders for making this growth possible. Your support strengthens our current programs and enables us to build new partnerships that will allow us to continue expanding these services and reaching more girls across the region. If you are interested in becoming a community partner—such as a school or after-school facility where these programs can be implemented—please reach out to Brandi at banderson@gscwm.org . If you are interested in supporting or funding the expansion of these opportunities, please contact Kimberly at kmcdermott@gscwm.org .
