Community Based Programs
At Girl Scouts, we strive to say “yes” to every girl because every girl has the power to change the world. Whether she hopes to become an entrepreneur or engineer, a governor or a conservationist—and whether she is your future employee, employer, or community leader—Girl Scouting is a proven way to get her there.
Just as there is more than one way to be a leader, there is more than one way to be a Girl Scout. By collaborating with local organizations, Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts offers Community Based Programs that meet girls where they are: schools, housing developments, libraries, clubs and more.
Community Based Programs are provided at no cost to participants in high-need, under-resourced areas of our community. Generous corporate and foundation support is imperative to ensuring equal access to Girl Scouts and enabling girls to explore outdoor skills, STEM, financial literacy, health, mental wellness, internet safety, and other crucial life skills.
For more information about Community Based Programs, or to help support these programs through funding or volunteering, please contact us - our Community Partnership Team and Customer Care Team are ready to help!
GSCWM currently features two Community Based Programs Umbrellas- It’s a Girl’s World and Find Your Footing. These comprehensive program series are designed to be delivered one hour a week for eight weeks and facilitated by GSCWM staff/volunteers.
Girls in kindergarten and above have an opportunity to participate in these no-cost Community Based Programs. An annual Girl Scout membership, program supplies, earned badges, Girl Scout sash or vest, and snacks are included at no cost to community partners, families or youth participants.
