Show off your creativity, ingenuity, and engineering skills and build a Rube Goldberg machine that will dip your favorite Girl Scout cookie into a glass of milk! What's a Rube Goldberg machine? It's a contraption that uses chain reaction to carry out a simple task. Think Mouse Trap the game, and the breakfast machine in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! You'll learn about simple machines, basic energy transfer, and the engineering design process as you create your contraption out of everyday objects found in your home or meeting space. Participate in the council-wide challenge alone, or with your team of up to five. One team from each level Daisies through Ambassadors will be chosen and will receive medals, and their photos displayed in our Leadership Centers for a year! Attending an information session is not required to participate but will answer all of your questions. Teams must register to participate in the Rube Goldberg Machine Cookie Dip Challenge by February 1 to participate in the challenge. All video submissions will be due at the end of National Engineering Week, February 20. Winners will be announced at a council-wide Zoom Celebration on the Girl Scout Birthday, March 12. We'll even share last year's winning team videos with you!
Register through GSCWM by December 11.
Open to troops, individual girls, and girls with an adult.
