Girl Scouts of Central and Western MA Celebrates 100 Years of Camp Green Eyrie
Generations return to Harvard, MA to honor a century of friendships and memories
HAVARD, MA — Camp Green Eyrie in Harvard, MA proudly marked its 100-year anniversary with a joyful celebration on August 23 & 24, 2025. The milestone event welcomed alumni, current campers, past staff, and local community members back to the beloved Harvard camp for a weekend of fun and reflection.
“For 100 years, Camp Green Eyrie has been a place where girls discover courage, friendship, and the joy of the outdoors,” said Theresa Lynn, CEO of Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts (GSCWM). “This milestone is not just about celebrating the past — it’s about honoring the generations who built lasting memories here and ensuring that future campers will continue to grow, lead, and thrive in this special place.”
The festivities featured classic camp traditions like canoeing, kayaking, and archery, alongside newer favorites such as stand-up paddleboarding, hatchet throwing, and gaga ball. Guests explored the camp’s natural beauty and historic grounds through guided tours, and enjoyed a special appearance by the camp’s very first director, affectionately known as “Miss Greene.” An exhibit of artifacts and photographs spanning decades further celebrated Camp Green Eyrie’s rich legacy.
For a century, Camp Green Eyrie has provided generations of youth with meaningful experiences, outdoor adventure, and lifelong friendships. The 100th anniversary celebration honored this enduring tradition while looking forward to the camp’s bright future.
Camp Green Eyrie is one of four camps operated by GSCWM. Through its outdoor programs, GSCWM is committed to providing girls with opportunities to explore nature, build confidence, and form lasting connections — all while encouraging them to step away from screens and experience the joys of the outdoors.
